Brief History

STEAG Energy Services (India) Pvt. Ltd. (SESI) is a wholly owned subsidiary of STEAG Energy Services GmbH, Germany (SESG). STEAG is Germany’s fifth largest IPP owning and operating over 11,000 MW in Germany and elsewhere. STEAG has over 75 years of experience in the energy business, including Operation & Maintenance of its own plants and of third parties. All power stations of STEAG have been engineered, constructed, commissioned, rehabilitated, modernized and operated by its own engineers. STEAG is proud to call itself as the Consultant with Operational Experience.

STEAG Energy Services (India) Pvt. Ltd. (SESI) was set up in 2001 to provide cost-effective consultancy services of international standards by integrating resources of the parent company and those of SESI in India. SESI combines the best of the technology and professionalism of its German principals and a thorough knowledge and understanding of conditions in the power sector in India. It is thus able to synergize its Indian experience with the technological and professional back up of European standards and provide the best possible solutions and services to clients in India and elsewhere.

STEAG Energy Services India (SESI), started in January 2001 with a handful of employees, has bloomed into a vibrant and multifaceted power company of repute. SESI is today a company with over 1,000 permanent employees and an equal number on contract.

Its growth has kept pace with the fast growing Indian power generation sector which, in recent years, has added up to 20,000 MW a year. SESI has gained an excellent position through its technological expertise, years of experience, support from the parent company and its subsidiaries and an excellent network, enabling it to play a pivotal role in the energy market in India and abroad.

The future will see more activities in third countries and activities related to energy efficiency and solar as significant growth areas.
