We are pleased to announce that we are organising a seminar on L1 system of procurement or works which is the basic root cause for cost and time overruns, arbitrations in most of the projects. In efforts to highlight the ills of L1 system and to substitute it with a workable approach, CEAI with support of NHAI, MoRTH, CPWD, IEEMA, ECI, FIDIC, CIDC and IEI, is organising a seminar titled “Goodbye L1 – A Route to Sustainable Engineering Development”.
The L1 tendering system has been prevalent in the government departments, ministries, public sector undertakings (PSUs) for over 70 years. However, now that there is an increased realisation in the Government, including the Central Vigilance Commission, that the L1 method needs to be revisited and an all-inclusive public procurement strategy is the need of the hour, in sync with a rapidly changing world, which calls for complex technological solutions at the best prices for the larger public good.
This event will take place in the C.D. Deshmukh Auditorium at India International Centre on 4th March 2020.
